Translation

Professional translators · any language · signed Certificate of Accuracy

The Dental Council of Ireland has one of the most detailed translation rules among Irish health regulators: documents not in English must be translated and duly notarised, with a photocopy of the source bound to the translation and the translator's stamp or seal on every page. We translate dental degrees, conformity letters and good-standing letters, bind each with its source copy, seal every page and post the hard copy. Confirm the notarisation step with the Council first. Translation is €29.95 per page, with most orders ready within 24 hours.

Country-Specific Knowledge

We Know Your Country's Dental Documents

Most dentists joining the Irish register qualified elsewhere in the EU, where conformity letters and good-standing certificates are often issued only in the national language. These are the files we see most.

🇪🇸 Spain · Graduado en Odontología

We translate the Título de Grado en Odontología, the Ministry certificate of conformity with the Directive and the Colegio de Dentistas certificate of good standing, keeping the Directive article references exactly as issued.

🇮🇹 Italy · Laurea in Odontoiatria e Protesi Dentaria

We translate the laurea magistrale certificate, the abilitazione and the Ordine dei Medici Chirurghi e degli Odontoiatri certificate from the Albo degli Odontoiatri, keeping the voto out of 110.

🇵🇹 Portugal · Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Dentária

We translate the carta de curso or diploma, the certidão with classificação final out of 20, and the Ordem dos Médicos Dentistas declaration of good standing, including the cédula profissional number.

🇷🇴 Romania · Medic Stomatolog / Medicină Dentară

Older Romanian diplomas say medic stomatolog, newer ones medicină dentară. We keep the exact title, and translate the certificat de conformitate and the Colegiul Medicilor Stomatologi din România certificat de status profesional curent.

🇵🇱 Poland · Lekarz dentysta

We translate the dyplom lekarza dentysty, the staż podyplomowy record and the izba lekarska certificate, including the prawo wykonywania zawodu number and conformity wording, when these are issued in Polish only.

🇧🇷 Brazil · Cirurgião-Dentista

Brazilian dentists are non-EU graduates for the Council, so the examination or EU-recognition route usually applies. We translate the diploma (both sides), histórico escolar and the CRO certidão for that file.

Every Language Routes Through the Same Trusted Pipeline

Send scans of each document the Council has asked for. The translator translates it, attaches the source copy, seals each page and adds the clause and translator details. We then post the bound translation by tracked post so it reaches you intact. Check with the Dental Council how the notarisation step should be handled before you submit.

FAQs

Dental Council Registration Translation: Common Questions

How much does a Dental Council translation cost?+
€29.95 per page of 300 source words for the translation. A degree and a conformity letter are usually one page each. The tracked-post hard copy is added at checkout; the notarisation step is separate, so check with the Dental Council before you order.
How long does it take?+
The translation itself is ready in 24 hours for one to three pages. Posting a bound hard copy and the separate notarisation step take time, so allow extra days and keep an eye on the three-month expiry of good-standing letters.
Why does the Dental Council want notarisation when other regulators don't?+
It is the Council's own rule. Its checklist says documents not in English must be translated and duly notarised, bound with a photocopy of the source, and sealed on each page by the translator. NMBI, CORU and PSI do not ask for this.
Can I just upload a PDF?+
Not for the translated documents. The Council asks for both the original requested document and the original notarised translation, intact. That is why a hard copy by tracked post is needed for this page's documents.
Should I bind the rest of my application?+
No. The Council asks applicants not to bind information unnecessarily; only the notarised translations are bound, by the translator, and must not be taken apart.
Do Irish sworn translators exist for this?+
No. Ireland has no sworn-translator system. The Dental Council's requirement is a translation that is notarised and bound as described in its checklist, so check with the Council before you order.
I qualified in Canada. Does this apply?+
The Council's checklist notes that dentists benefiting from the mutual recognition agreement with Canada do not need a conformity letter. Canadian documents are usually in English or French; French ones need a notarised translation.
