Getting married in Ireland or abroad means proving you are free to marry. Whether it is your home country’s certificate of civil status, a no-marriage-record extract, or the documents behind a DFA Certificate of Freedom to Marry, we translate them into certified English, or from English into your partner’s language. €29.95 per page, most documents delivered in 24 hours, with a signed and stamped Certificate of Accuracy.
No account required. No commitment. Exact price in seconds.
Send a photo, scan or PDF of your certificate of single status through our secure portal. We count the words and show you the exact price in euro straight away.
A professional translator completes your translation, and we attach a signed Certificate of Accuracy with our full contact details, company stamp and reference number.
Your certified translation arrives by email as a PDF, ready to submit. A hard copy by tracked post or an apostille can be added at checkout. 12-hour expedited service on request.
No add-ons hidden in the small print. Everything below is standard.
Worded to mirror the format Irish bodies publish: a statement that it is a true translation of the original, the date, the translator’s name and signature, and our address, phone and email.
We translate the holder’s full name and any former names, date and place of birth, nationality, the civil status recorded (single, divorced or widowed), the registers searched, the issuing authority, any validity date stated, and every seal, signature and reference number on the document.
A native speaker with experience in your exact document type, never machine translation. The same translator across all your documents on request.
Every certificate carries our company stamp and a unique reference number, which several Irish registration bodies and the Foreign Births Register ask to see.
Emailed as a PDF on completion. Where the receiving body wants paper, add a hard copy sent by tracked post at checkout.
Free revisions until you are happy. If a receiving body rejects the translation, we revise it free or refund you in full.
€29.95 per page, and a single-status document is almost always one page. If you are marrying abroad and the other country wants the translation legalised, we arrange apostille certification for €149.95 with digital delivery or €199.95 with a posted hard copy. Check date rules first, as some of these documents are only valid briefly.
Freedom to marry is proven differently depending on where the wedding takes place. These are the Irish steps where single-status paperwork, and its translation, usually comes up.
At least three months before the wedding, you sign a declaration before the Registrar that you are free to marry and know of no impediment. Supporting documents not in English or Irish must be translated.
If you were married before, the Registrar needs the final divorce decree, the annulment order or your late spouse’s death certificate, each translated if it is not in English or Irish.
Irish citizens marrying abroad apply to DFA at least four months ahead. Supporting documents such as a foreign birth certificate or divorce decree need certified translations if not in English or Irish.
The DFA application includes statutory declarations witnessed by a notary public, Commissioner for Oaths or solicitor, dated no more than six months before the wedding. Plan your translations around that window.
For weddings in Italy, DFA sends the Certificate of Freedom to Marry to the Irish Embassy in Rome, which translates it and forwards it to your Italian address, so you need not order that translation.
Other countries may want your Irish documents in their own language. We translate from English into 100+ languages; first check whether the local registrar insists on a translator appointed in that country.
Same €29.95 per page whatever the language. These are the languages we see most often from clients in Ireland.
Most countries have no document literally called a certificate of single status. Each proves freedom to marry in its own way, so here is what your country issues and what we translate.
The Urząd Stanu Cywilnego issues a certificate of civil status. Polish citizens marrying abroad may instead hold a certificate of legal capacity to marry (zaświadczenie stwierdzające, że zgodnie z prawem polskim można zawrzeć małżeństwo). Tell us which one you have.
Brazil has no single-status certificate. Brazilians usually prove it with a recently issued birth certificate showing no marriage annotation, sometimes with a declaração de estado civil. We translate both, including the issue date.
The civil registry issues an extract from the State Register of Civil Status Acts confirming whether a marriage is registered for you. Offices often want a recent one, so order it close to your appointment. We match names to your passport.
Issued by the Comune, the Italian single-status certificate is normally valid only for a limited period, so check its date before translating. If the wedding is in Italy, the local ufficio di stato civile will tell you what it needs.
Spain’s Registro Civil issues the fe de vida y estado, certifying that you are alive and your civil status, sometimes backed by a sworn statement (declaración jurada de estado civil). Most offices want a recent issue date.
Chinese citizens prove single status with a certificate of no marriage registration record from the civil affairs marriage registry, often followed by a notarial certificate of unmarried status (未婚公证书). We translate both, seals included.
Upload the document and tell us where the wedding will take place. For Irish use we translate into English; for a wedding abroad we translate your Irish documents from English into the local language. Names are matched to your passport, and you receive a signed, stamped PDF by email, or add a hard copy by tracked post at checkout.
