Married abroad? Ireland does not register marriages that took place in another country, so your foreign certificate, in certified English translation, is the proof Irish bodies work from. We prepare it for EU Treaty Rights residence, citizenship as the spouse of an Irish citizen, registering your baby’s birth and a passport in your married name. €29.95 per page, most certificates delivered in 24 hours, with a signed and stamped Certificate of Accuracy.
No account required. No commitment. Exact price in seconds.
Send a photo, scan or PDF of your marriage certificate through our secure portal. We count the words and show you the exact price in euro straight away.
A professional translator completes your translation, and we attach a signed Certificate of Accuracy with our full contact details, company stamp and reference number.
Your certified translation arrives by email as a PDF, ready to submit. A hard copy by tracked post or an apostille can be added at checkout. 12-hour expedited service on request.
No add-ons hidden in the small print. Everything below is standard.
Worded to mirror the format Irish bodies publish: a statement that it is a true translation of the original, the date, the translator’s name and signature, and our address, phone and email.
We translate both spouses’ names before and after the marriage, their dates and places of birth, parents’ names where shown, the date and place of the marriage, the registry or officiant, the witnesses, any property regime or surname declarations, the entry number and every seal, stamp and marginal note.
A native speaker with experience in your exact document type, never machine translation. The same translator across all your documents on request.
Every certificate carries our company stamp and a unique reference number, which several Irish registration bodies and the Foreign Births Register ask to see.
Emailed as a PDF on completion. Where the receiving body wants paper, add a hard copy sent by tracked post at checkout.
Free revisions until you are happy. If a receiving body rejects the translation, we revise it free or refund you in full.
€29.95 per page. A typical marriage certificate is one page; a full register extract, or a Nikah Nama with its conditions, may be two or three. If you are using the translation abroad, we arrange apostille certification on our translation for €149.95 with digital delivery or €199.95 with a posted hard copy.
Because the Civil Registration Service does not register marriages that took place abroad, your original certificate remains your key evidence in Ireland. These are the offices that ask for it most.
If the parents married outside Ireland, the HSE asks for the original marriage certificate. If not in English or Irish, the translation must come from a certified translation service; a multilingual form also works.
Spouses of EEA citizens prove the relationship with the marriage certificate. An EU certificate with a multilingual standard form needs no translation; otherwise ISD asks for one into English or Irish.
Spouses of Irish citizens can apply after three years of marriage and three years’ residence on the island of Ireland. The application includes a certified copy of the marriage certificate.
The Passport Office asks for the original civil marriage certificate when you apply in a married name. It wants the civil record, so translate that rather than a church certificate.
If you are widowed and marrying again in Ireland, the Registrar asks for your civil marriage certificate and your late spouse’s civil death certificate, translated if not in English or Irish.
Marriages abroad are registered only in the country where they took place, and a church ceremony abroad may have no legal effect. The civil certificate is what Irish bodies rely on.
Same €29.95 per page whatever the language. These are the languages we see most often from clients in Ireland.
Marriage certificates record different things in different countries: surname choices in Poland, the property regime in Brazil, contract conditions in Pakistan. Here is what to watch for in the formats we see most.
The Polish certificate records the surname each spouse takes after the marriage and the surname for future children. Those declarations matter when your Irish records use a married name, so we translate them word for word.
Romanian certificates list each spouse’s surname before and after the marriage, and older ones are handwritten. As an EU document it can come with a multilingual standard form, though many Irish bodies still prefer a full translation.
Issued by the Cartório de Registro Civil, it states the property regime (for example comunhão parcial de bens), and later divorces appear as marginal notes (averbações). A recently issued copy shows the current status.
The Registro Civil issues a full literal certificate (certificación literal) and a shorter extract (certificación en extracto). The literal version carries every annotation, so it is usually the safer one to translate for Irish use.
The Urdu Nikah Nama sets out the dower (haq mehr), the witnesses and any delegated rights, and is often submitted with a NADRA marriage registration certificate. We translate every clause and the Union Council details.
The red marriage certificate booklet is issued to each spouse by the civil affairs marriage registry. We translate the photo page, the registration number and the registry’s embossed seal, so either spouse’s copy can be used.
Send a scan or clear photo of the whole certificate, including any back page with stamps or annotations. Your translator is a native speaker of the source language, names are spelled to match both passports, and you receive a signed, stamped PDF by email. Add a hard copy by tracked post at checkout if an office wants paper.
