Document Anatomy

What We Translate on Every Affidavit

An affidavit is only accepted if the sworn parts are rendered exactly – the oath, the jurat and the attestation carry its legal weight. Whatever the type or country, here is what we capture in full.

👤 Deponent & Sworn Statement

The full name and identifying details of the person swearing the affidavit, and each numbered averment of fact, translated word for word with nothing summarised.

⚖️ Oath / Affirmation & Jurat

The oath or affirmation and the jurat – the ‘sworn (or affirmed) before me this day’ clause – rendered precisely, since this is what makes the document an affidavit.

✍️ Commissioner / Solicitor Block

The commissioner for oaths, solicitor or notary before whom it was sworn, their details, the place and the date.

🔖 Seals, Stamps & Signatures

Every official seal, notarial stamp, revenue or court stamp and signature is described in brackets and positioned as on the original.

🌍 Support & Sponsorship Declarations

For immigration support affidavits we preserve the sponsor’s undertaking, figures and beneficiary details exactly as sworn, ready to accompany the UK application.

👶 Affidavit of Birth / Single Status

For affidavits used in place of a missing certificate, we translate the declarants’ statements and relationship details in full, as the Home Office and registrars require.

Every Language Routes Through the Same Trusted Pipeline

We translate affidavits both into English and from English into any target language. Whether it is an affidavit of support, of birth or a sworn court declaration, in Polish, Urdu, Arabic, Romanian, Chinese or any other language, every order follows the same quality-controlled process. You upload, we translate, certify and deliver – ready for the Home Office, a court or a consulate.

FAQs

Affidavit Translation: Common Questions

Does the Home Office accept a certified translation of a foreign affidavit?+
Yes. Any foreign-language affidavit submitted to the Home Office or UKVI – a support, birth or relationship declaration – must be accompanied by a complete certified English translation. We provide exactly that, preserving the sworn jurat.
How much does it cost in the UK?+
£29.95 per page (1 page = 300 source words). Most affidavits are one or two pages and are billed per page. No surcharge for rarer languages.
How long does it take?+
Standard turnaround is 24 hours, and most short affidavits are delivered the same working day. A 12-hour expedited service is available on request for a court or Home Office deadline.
Do you translate the jurat and oath too?+
Yes, and it is essential. The oath and jurat – showing the statement was sworn before a commissioner for oaths, solicitor or notary – give an affidavit its legal force. We translate them in full along with the official’s details and seals.
Can an affidavit of birth replace a missing birth certificate?+
When a birth certificate is unavailable, the Home Office may accept affidavits of birth from people with personal knowledge, together with evidence the record is unobtainable. We provide certified translations of those affidavits; acceptance is the Home Office’s decision.
Do I need notarisation or an apostille?+
The affidavit is already sworn; the translation is what needs certifying. Overseas use may need an apostille (from £149.95).
Can you translate a UK affidavit into another language?+
Yes. We translate UK-sworn affidavits and statutory declarations from English into the language a foreign court, consulate or registry requires, with the jurat preserved.
