For WES, ICES & IQAS

Academic Documents, Certified for Evaluation

Credential assessment bodies compare your foreign qualification to a Canadian equivalent, and they will only work from a certified translation submitted alongside the original-language document. We translate degree and diploma certificates, full academic transcripts and mark sheets, statements of results, and professional qualification certificates – each rendered literally, with grading scales and institution names preserved so the evaluator is not misled. Where you send documents directly to WES, we return a translation formatted to accompany your sealed originals.

FAQs

Credential Evaluation Translation: Common Questions

Do WES and other evaluators need a certified translation?+
Yes. WES, ICES, IQAS, CES and ICAS all require a complete certified translation of any document not issued in English or French, submitted together with the original-language copy. Our signed Certificate of Accuracy meets their requirement.
Do you convert my grades to a Canadian grade?+
No. Evaluators do the grade conversion themselves. We translate the transcript literally – including the original grading scale and marks – so the evaluator can assess it accurately. Changing the grades would invalidate the assessment.
Which academic documents should I translate?+
Typically your degree or diploma certificate and the full transcript or mark sheet. Some programmes also ask for a statement of results or a medium-of-instruction letter. Translate every page that is not already in English or French.
Is this the same translation IRCC will accept?+
Yes. The same certified translation is accepted by IRCC for Express Entry and other immigration streams, by universities, and by provincial licensing bodies. Add a sworn affidavit (+$24.95) only if a specific IRCC application requires it.
